1st PROJECT MEETING – ROMANIA

The 1st transnational meeting was dedicated to better knowledge of partners belonging to the five partner countries: Hungary, Italy, Portugal, Turkey and Romania. So, the workshops were mainly focused on the mutual knowledge of partners.
Ø Workshop “Let’s Know Each Other” - each partner presented sets of Power Point and video presentations created by students belonging to the European Comenius team. They introduced their countries, regions, cities and schools to their partners.

Ø Workshop “Educational Systems in Europe – Romania” -
the head teacher of the host institution introduced the school system,
accompanied the guests in their visit of the school; showed the guest (head)
teachers the most important school documents and invited the Comenius teams to
attend classes. Reflections on European educational systems followed, the
discussions being based on comparison and contrast with the educational systems
of the project partners.
Ø Photo exhibition “Here WE Are!” - displayed a set of photos mirroring relevant shots about partner countries and some significant cultural aspects. Students of each team presented the images offering explanations in English.

Ø Workshop “Let’s Logo” - each
of the five partner teams presented (showed and explained) the logo created for
the project. The best logo – symbolizing the project – was chosen by secret
voting.
Ø Final

“Progress and Evaluation” - the team of European teachers discussed about the progress of the project, evaluated some aspects of it and agreed on the next steps.
“What Was It Like?” - the students in the European team filled in the questionnaire given by the host school, wrote their opinion on this phase of the project and about the experience in the 1st project meeting.
Ø The social and cultural aspects of the meeting were not neglected. The guests had the opportunity to see the most important sight in the town of Oradea and Bihor county and feel a little bit of the Romanian living style by spending time in families, tasting Romania traditional foods, listening to beautiful folk songs and admiring the folk dances.
Ø Media dissemination was an important part of the transnational meeting as the entire local community was connected to the Comenius project.
